More about the author
Nikole Daniels
1. What was the most unexpected challenge you encountered while writing a book?

Description of interiors and exteriors. I still can't do it, by the way.

2. Can you share a moment from your personal life that inspired a scene or character in the book?
Aurellia Mitchell has a lot in common with me. We have the same music taste. Jade Olson too, when it comes to her personality. But I think every character I created has something small of me.

3. If your book were adapted into a film, who would be your dream cast for the main characters?
I don't have anyone in particular in mind, but if I had to choose one book, it would have to be SCYTHE.

4. How did you choose the title for your book, and what significance does it hold for you?
I choose words that fit the plot or the characters. Something significant and short.

5. What research did you conduct for this book, and did you uncover anything surprising or fascinating?
I did a lot of research on BPD. Of course, it's hard to capture a mental disorder in words from a perspective of someone who doesn't know how it feels to have it.
6. Are there any characters in your books that you relate to on a personal level?
Vivienne Caddel from SCYTHE.

7. What was the most rewarding moment you experienced during the writing process?
Probably when I finish writing the last chapter, haha.

8. If you could offer one piece of advice to aspiring writers, what would it be?
Never give up. It's such a cliche to say, but it's true. Even when I thought I'd never finish my book, I made it.

9. How do you handle writer's block or moments of creative doubt?
Music. That helped me the most with my writer's block.

10. What do you hope readers will take away from your book?
Love is complicated and beautiful, but if you work for it, it's worth it.
